President Yoweri Museveni has pledged to fence off the Queen Elizabeth National Park and build a bridge across River Nyamugasani saying the projects have delayed because of the leaders opposed to the NRM government.

“I am now going to work on fencing the park. We have talked about this for long. The problem is that you have been sending people who do not work with the NRM. Because of that, some of the issues that disturb you are not known by government. I know the big problems like roads and electricity but I need leaders on the ground to tell me the issues at the grassroots. Those should be brought up by your leaders, you should get me an NRM MP to follow up,” he said.

The President who was accompanied by the first daughter Natasha Museveni Karugire yesterday started his campaign trail in the Rwenzori Region.

He was speaking at a campaign rally held at Bright Star Nursery and Primary School in Kasinga sub-county, Bukonzo East Constituency in Kasese district.

He pledged to build a hospital for Kasese district.  “We know there is Kagando hospital for the church. I want to build a hospital at Nyabirongo so that those who cannot afford to go to Kagando where they pay can go to Nyabirongo where they do not pay,” he said.
