I have no plans of rigging elections – Mbabazi

Presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi has said he has no plans of rigging elections. This was in response to comments attributed to PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni saysing the opposition was planning to rig elections.
While addressing the media in Mbarara, Mbabazi said he cannot get involved in election rigging. He also said he does not know how much money he has spent on the campaigns, saying that by law, he will submit the accountability to the Electoral Commission when time comes. He says he has no plans of attending the NRM’s 30 anniversary celebrations on Tuesday in Fort Portal, saying he will be very busy.
Mbabazi Addresses Press Confrence
Meanwhile, before setting off for the campaign in Lyantonde, Mbabazi today morning addressed a press conference, where he regretted the accident in which some of the members of his team were injured.
He said they wer etaken to clinics because there are no equipped health centres in the area. The press conference was held at Lake View Hotel in Mbarara. He said there were many members of NRM who had come to provoke his people in Kitura, Nyabushozi, Kiruhura district and that he just left them to be.
He says there were issues raised in the oil agreements, but said the President said he would finalise everything. He said nobody knows what happened next.
He said he was happy to attend the last presidential debate and expressed willingness to attend the debate of February 10.

Meanwhile, Mbabazi campaigned in Museven’s home district yesterday

Independent Presidential Candidate, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi yesterday held rallies in Kiruhura, the home district of President Museveni.
Museveni held rallies in Kashongi contuency, Kanoni and Nkungu Sub County in Kazo constituency, Sanga Sub County in Nyabushozi and then opened office in Kitongore.
Before heading to Kiruhura, Mbabazi first campaigned in Ishongorero and Ibanda town council in Ibanda district.
Mbabazi was in Kasese district on Saturday unfortunately one of his cars got an accident.
