Kabakumba Labwoni Masiko, the Member of Parliament for Bujenje County on Thursday intruded the National Resistance Movement preparatory meeting for the President's visit which was held at the health board room in Masindi district.

President Yoweri Museveni, who is the NRM Presidential flag bearer, is expected to hold a rally in Masindi on Saturday January 23rd.

The meeting started at around 10:30.am. However, Kabakumba arrived about two hours later.According to NRM's publicity secretary Martin Kahwa, she (Kabakumba) was not invited.

"This meeting had very many intruders, including Kabakumba. We invited only MP flag bearers, mayoral flag-bearers, LC5 flag-bearers, plus the district executive and leagues. As far as we know, Kabakumba is an independent candidate," Kahwa said.

"Some people invade meetings just because of small allowances, but since NRM doesn't want to chase people away, we try to contain them,"Kahwa added.

Kabakumba, who was the NRM district chairperson was suspended by the District executive on December 16, 2015 after she decided to contest as an independent for the Masindi Municipality seat.

On January 7, the National Secretariat Deputy Secretary General Richard Todwong wrote a letter directing Kabakumba to hand over all party materials and leave office, appointing her deputy Kanaginagi Rutindo as the acting chairperson.

She however, defied the resolution, claiming that the meeting that passed her suspension was illegal.

She has since gone on to declare that she will continue campaigning and soliciting votes for President Yoweri Museveni. Kabakumba still insists that she is still the rightful district NRM chairperson.
