Veteran Ugandan dancehall musician, Daniel Kyeyune Kazibwe, best known by his stage name 'Ragga Dee', won the race for the NRM flagbearer for Kampala mayor in Tuesday's party primaries.
He beat Capt. Francis Babu, his closest challenger, and Muhammad Kasule.
Kazibwe enjoyed a landslide victory with 6146 votes, Babu came in second with 3334 votes and Kasule tailed with 2803 votes.
Meanwhile, in the MP Rubaga North race, Katongole Singh beat all his four competitors by a convincing margin. He garnered 3470 votes while his closest rival Brian Tindyebwa managed 2138 votes.
In the same race, Tadeo Amanyire polled 364 votes, Bossa Mpallanyi got 138 votes while Dr. Isaac Lwanga was rock-bottom with a lowly 98 votes.
In the race for MP Rubaga South, Fariidah Mpiima Mayanja won with a comprehensive victory after getting 3671 votes. Male Charles Kenneth was second with 1660 votes and Ronald Kiiza followed with 1347 votes. Nelson Mutyaba had a dismal 330 votes.
Elsewhere, the Woman MP Kampala (Rubaga) contention saw Asia Nabisere win easily with a thorough 6141 votes while Mariam Talemwa polled 2943 votes and Joanita Majimbi 1620.
