The Electoral Commission has reassured the public that any amendments that will be made to the presidential elections bill will not disrupt its activities.
Some of the amendments to be passed in this bill include the increase of all presidential nomination fees from sh8m to sh20m, while aspiring Members of Parliament are to pay sh1m up from sh200,000.
Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission Joseph Biribonwa says many of the candidates who had picked nomination forms will pay the new fees.
“For us we follow the laws as they are made. We shall issue an addendum to our guidelines according to the laws that will be made”.
